“Combining Brian Wilson’s mental health with Phil Spector’s penchant for handguns, Citizen Helene sounds a bit like that guy from The Magnetic Fields if he was straight, a woman, black, from Britain, stopped with the fucking mandolin for a moment, and thought a sense of humour dryer than Mary Whitehouse’s fanny wasn’t quite dry enough. Also her songs stop before they get boring. WIN!”
